Founder of the Purva-Mimamsa school of Hindu philosophy. Thinker. He wrote the Mimamsa Sutra, which became the basis of Purva-Mimamsa, one of the six classical schools of Hinduism. Purva-Mimamsa has its own logical system, draws heavily on the Vedas (ancient texts), and is especially noted for its emphasis on duty.
